Thank you, Cheryl. It is so hard to believe that we are reading stories like this in 2024. Women in Iowa (and across our country) need to get out and vote. Our vote has always been, and will always be, our most powerful tool when it comes to standing up to the dangerous nonsense coming from the legislature these days.

Cheryl, this is one of the best columns I’ve seen on women’s health autonomy. Thank you! It’s been suggested that the rise in sexually transmitted diseases is directly connected to defunding Planned Parenthood. We are certainly in a sorry position with all these white middle aged men and some women ruining our state. When will our neighbors and friends realize what is going on.

At a public meet and greet in Algona, Rep Wills said he was against this bill because women could get this form of birth control without going to the doctor. He said his wife told him the only reason she gets yearly medical exams is in order to renew her birth control perscription. Therefore, he is against this because women need their annual exams.
